It has been a long road for Iowa offensive lineman Jack Dotzler (doats-lur). The native of Wisconsin was listed as the starter at right tackle heading into spring drills after serving as the backup at left tackle last season. It is a road that began with Dotzler needing to add size.
Dotzler began his college career at 250 pounds. That is considered too small by today’s standard.
Iowa lost three starters from last year’s offensive line but Dotzler says a talented group of newcomers gives that unit a lot of depth.
The Hawkeyes close spring drills with an open practice on April 25th.
