Iowa LB Derek Weisskopf on spring drills

As he enters his third season in the Iowa program linebacker Derek Weisskopf is looking for an expanded role on a defense that lost eight starters from last season. The former Williamsburg high school star appeared in 12 games as a red-shirt freshman and feels he is mentally ready for a larger role.

Weisskopf says he worked in the off-season to get better physically.

Weisskopf says one of the biggest adjustments to college football is the speed of the game.

The Hawkeyes close spring drills with an open practice on April 25th.
