Iowa linebacker Cam Buffington says one of the areas he has focused on during summer workouts is pass coverage. Buffington appeared in six games last season is expected to play a larger role for a Hawkeye team that has only three starters back on defense.
Buffington is one of several young players who will need to step up for a linebacker corps that was hIt hard by graduation.
Buffington has been lauded for his maturity and he credits that to growing up in a small town, He was an eight-player All State standout at Winfield-Mount Union High School.
The Hawkeyes open the season on September fifth against Northern Illinois.
