The Iowa Hawkeye baseball team opens a three game Big Ten series at home beginning Friday night against Maryland. The Hawkeyes are 5-10 in the league race after getting swept at 14th ranked USC and will still play two of the top four teams in the league race in the final month of the season.
That’s Iowa coach Rick Heller. Without a truce ace pitcher the Hawkeyes have struggled on Fridays and have yet to win a Big Ten series opener. Sophomore Tyler Guerin gets the start against the Terrapins Friday night.
Maryland enters the game with a 4-11 record in Big Ten play.
