Iowa junior Jaylen Watson has become one of the leaders of an Iowa secondary that lost several key starters from last year’s team that finished 9-4. The junior from Detroit appeared in all 13 games last season and started two. He is a likely starter at corner for a Hawkeye team that is in its second week of spring drills.
Watson says even with several new players in the secondary there is a standard of play to uphold.
Watson says as a veteran he knows what it takes to get on the field for the Hawkeyes.
Watson says spring drills are about competition and individual improvement as compared to preseason camp.
