IOWA CITY, Iowa — Brooklyn Hays, the 2025 U23 Pan-American champion, has signed with the University of Iowa women’s wrestling program, head coach Clarissa Chun announced Tuesday. Hays was ranked No. 2 at 68 kg by Team USA for the 2025-26 season.
“We’re proud to welcome Brooklyn to the Hawkeye family for the upcoming season,” Chun said. “She will bring an infectious energy to the team and will be an exciting addition to our program.”
Hays previously attended Augsburg University (Minneapolis), where she earned 2023 NCWWC All-American honors as a freshman following a sixth-place national finish at 170 pounds. Since then, she has trained full-time as a member of Team USA at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and competed for the Titan Mercury Wrestling Club. Her international resume includes titles at the 2025 U23 Pan-American Championships (68 kg) and the 2024 Senior Pan-American Championships (76 kg).
The Pleasant Grove, Utah, native was named the Top Girls Wrestler in Utah Valley during her junior high school season (2021-22) while capturing state championships in both wrestling and powerlifting.
