The Jimmy Rogers era begins Saturday when Iowa State hosts Southeast Missouri. The Cyclones feature more than 80 new players and a new four man front on defense. Senior linebacker Carson Willich (willik) is one of the holdovers and says the new defense is a big change for him.
Willich says the Cyclones are motivated by the low expectations so many outside of the program have.
Senior defensive tackle Max Baloun (buh-loon) says the priority of the new four man front is to stop the run.
Baloun missed most of last season at Washington State before transferring to ISU.
Baloun says going through the injury has made him even more excited about the new season.
