Several stars of the PGA Tour will be in the field next week at the John Deere Classic in the Quad Cities. Six-time winner on the PGA Tour Tony Finau committed to play this week as did Tom Kim, who finished third at the U-S Open. They join a field that includes former John Deere Classic champ J.T. Poston, who finished tied for fourth at the U-S Open.
That’s tournament director Andrew Lehman, who is happy with a field that also includes Rickie Fowler, Max Homa and Ben Griffen.
Lehman says players have until the end of the second round of the Travelers Championship today (Friday) to enter the tournament.
Lehman expects next week’s tournament to be sold out on Saturday and Sunday but says big name players can help drive ticket sales during the week.
The John Deere Classic is July second through the fifth.
