Drake women’s basketball coach Allison Pohlman hopes an experienced and healthy roster will help the Bulldogs regain their winning ways. Drake finished a dissapointing 12-20 lsast season. It snapped a string of 11 straight winning seasons for the program and in 10 of those, Drake posted 20 or more wins.
Season ending injuries to Peyton McCabe, Mya Crawford and Mylea (my-lee) Monahan left the Bulldogs without a true point guard and Drake finished near the bottom of the Missouri Valley Conference in turnover margin. All three are back and healthy.
Pohlman says a strength of this team will be its versatility.
Another challenging nonconference schedule awaits. The Bulldogs have road games at Kansas, Iowa State and Creighton. They will also host Iowa.
The Bulldogs open the regular season at home on November third against Eastern Illinois.
