Through multiple coaching changes the winning has remained for Drake football as the Bulldogs get ready to make a run at a fourth straight Pioneer Football League championship. Matt Walker is the third different coach in three years and took over the program after winning the NCAA Division III national title at Wisconsin-River Falls.

The Bulldogs have another challenging non-conference slate that will include a September fifth game at perennial power Montana and a September 12th contest at Northern Iowa.
All PFL receiver Mitch January missed all of last season with an Achilles injury. He was in the transfer portal after former coach Joe Woodley left to join the staff at Rutgers but eventually decided to return to Drake.
All conference defensive back Garrison Codde (kah-dee) says the culture of the program has helped them thrive despite multiple coaching changes.
Codde says the Bulldogs will feature a new, attacking style of defense.
Senior linebacker J.R. Flood says games at Montana and Northern Iowa will have them ready for the league race.
Drake opens at home on Thursday, August 27th by hosting South Dakota Mines.
