Diaz looks to boost Iowa pass game

Iowa receiver Tony Diaz has shown the ability to make difficult catches during summer workouts. Diaz joined the Hawkeyes after leading the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley last season with 68 receptions, including 11 for touchdowns. He feels ready to make the jump from FCS to the Power Four level.

Diaz says he has become a better student of the game since transferring to Iowa.

Diaz says he has learned a lot from working with fellow wide out and junior Reece Vander Zee.

Diaz hopes to boost a Hawkeye passing game that ranked 17th in the Big Ten last season by averaging just over 142 yards per game in conference play. Iowa opens September fifth at home against Northern Illinois.
