CAM Cougars Girls Track Sending Three Events to Drake Relays

Ada Hanson of the CAM Cougars will be racing in three events at the 2026 Drake Relays. She will participate in the 100m and 400m Hurdles and will be on the 4x100m relay team that also qualified. Her 15.22 sec 110m Hurdles time is 20th in the state, and her 400m time clocked in at 1:03.41, which is the 4th fastest time across all classes. Head Coach Luke Symonds credits her success to what type of work she puts in every day.

The 4x100m Relay team consists of Brookelyn Steffen, Brylee Steffen, Ada Hanson and Ruthie Rich. CAM did not send the 4×100 last season but a 51.93 sec time this year was good enough to get them to Drake.

This year’s relay team needed a new runner with the absence of a senior from last season. Freshman Brylee Steffen seemed to be the perfect fit.

As the Cougars look ahead to the second half of the season, Coach Symonds points out someone to watch for CAM as they near the state-qualifying meets.

Ada Hanson and the 4x100m Relay team will run when the high school events take place at the Drake Relays beginning on Friday, April 24th. The Next CAM Girls Track meet will be on Thursday, April 23rd at the Wildcat Invitational.
