DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake women’s basketball coaching staff got deeper with the addition of Graduate Assistant Dylan Hurley, Suzie Glazer Burt Head Coach Allison Pohlman announced today.
Hurley comes to Des Moines after serving as a Graduate Assistant Coach at NCAA Division II Daemen University for the 2025-26 season.
A native Floridian, Hurley played basketball for two schools at the NAIA and NCAA Division III levels. He began his collegiate career at Iowa Wesleyan University where he helped the Tigers set a school record for wins in a season with 27, win a conference championship, and reach the national tournament. He then moved on to Cornell College from 2023-25. As a Ram, Hurley was a Second Team All-Midwest Conference performer and earned both the team’s Offensive Most Valuable Player and Newcomer of the Year.
Dylan has found success as a coach at Daemen, aiding the Wildcats in their pursuit of regular season and conference tournament titles, plus a Sweet Sixteen berth and D-II era wins record.
Hurley’s Drake tenure will begin immediately as the Bulldogs are currently engaged in their summer training phase.
