West Virginia’s Rich Rodriguez says says Big 12 coaches support a 24-team college football playoff. The issue was discussed during the Big 12 meetings in Dallas.
Texas Tech coach Joey McGuire says they would also like the season shortened and the playoffs to end in the middle of January rather than the end of the month.
Big 12 Chief Football Officer Scott Draper says a 24-team playoff last season would have included five teams from the Big 12.
Next season’s college football playoff will remain a 12-team field.
