It was all Trojans on Thursday night as they defeated Glenwood by a score of 11-3. Jack Muller started for Atlantic, going four innings and allowing just three runs. Hudson McLaren followed, finishing the last three innings to secure the victory. He finished with a handful of strikeouts and allowed no runs. A three run blast by Gavin McLaren put them on top in the first inning and they never looked back.
In the first inning, Jack Muller walked the lead-off batter but picked off Glenwood’s Korbin Pelzer for the first out of the inning. Muller set down the next two batters to get out of the first. In the bottom half of the inning, Walks to Sawyer Tarrell and Kale Jensen set Gavin McLaren up with two on and one away. He belted a homer over the left field wall to give the Trojans a 3-0 lead. They would never give the lead back.
In the second, Atlantic would hit around the lineup, scoring 5 runs. Two walks and three straight hit by pitches set the Trojans up for a long inning and they capitalized on the opportunity. They made it 8-0 by the end of the inning. The offense would score a run in each of the next three innings.
Jack Muller would go the next two innings, allowing 2 runs to score in the third and 1 in the fourth, but that’s all the Rams would muster. Hudson McLaren entered the game in relief, re-joining the team after taking 19th at the state golf tournament on Wednesday. He pitched three innings in relief and allowed no runs. Kale Jensen secured the final out and the Trojans moved to 2-2 on the young season with an 11-3 victory over Glenwood.
