Atlantic Falls to Cardinals at Busch Stadium

The Atlantic baseball team lost to the Cardinals at Busch Stadium in St. Louis Sunday. The Clarinda Cardinals jumped out to an early 8-1 lead and held off a late Trojan rally to post the 12-8 victory.

Clarinda scored four times in each of the first two innings to jump on top.

Atlantic attempted to rally late. Down 12-4 in the seventh, the Trojans scored four runs after two were out, with the big blow coming from Keston Schmitt who drove in three runs with a bases-loaded double.

Also, for Atlantic, Paxton Pross went two for three with an RBI and scored twice, Sawyer Tarrell had three hits and Kale Jensen was two for four with a pair of RBI’s.
