The Atlantic Trojans Boys Golf team finished their 2026 season with their second consecutive trip to state, placing 4th in the tournament. They finished with a conference record of 10-2, good for third place in the Hawkeye Ten. Across all golfers on the team, they went 81-7. Head Coach Kendra Henningsen says that getting back to Waterloo for the state tournament was the main thing for this team all season
Part of the key for this season was making sure that once the team got back to state, they were ready to compete. Coach Henningson put them in positions to do that:
Hudson McLaren finished his high school career as a 3x state qualifier, one time as an individual and twice as a team participant. He was one of Atlantic’s top statistical finishers over the last three seasons and set a great example for the rest of the team:
A third-place conference finish and 4th at state capped off another successful golf season for Atlantic in 2026.
