ACGC Host Martensdale-St. Mary’s in Round 1

The ACGC Chargers return to their home turf this Friday for a high-stakes playoff matchup, welcoming the Martensdale-St Marys Blue Devils to Guthrie Center for a massive Class A postseason showdown. The Chargers carry a strong competitive spirit and a 5-3 record into the contest following hard-fought action down the stretch of their season.

ACGC’s offense continues to operate through sophomore quarterback and running threat Andrew Baumert, who has orchestrated the passing attack with 132 yards on 15 completions while anchoring the ground game with 599 rushing yards and 9 rushing touchdowns on 99 carries. Out wide, senior playmaker Ryder Cline serves as a primary target in the passing and running attack, hauling in 65 receiving yards while adding 406 rushing yards and 6 rushing scores.

Defensively, the Chargers bring a physical, hard-hitting unit featuring 347.5 total tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 9 interceptions as they look to make a statement in front of the home crowd. The Charger’s defense is going to have to look to their secondaries as the Blue Devils are more of an aerial team then running the ball.

That’s Head Coach Willium Shull and he believes that last week’s game against Riverside helped them get ready for this week’s playoff atmosphere.

The Chargers are motivated as they know it’s a win or go home situation.
