ACGC Saw lots of improvements during this year’s softball season. The Chargers played some tough games this year and put up good team numbers. Caydence Boals, who was a senior this year, led the team in hits. Boals had 35 hits with a batting average of .412. She also had 11 runs on the season with 20 RBIs. The Freshman Kailee Kautzky was right behind her on the hitting side of things and also led the team in RBIs. Kautzky had 33 hits on the season with a .398 batting average. She led the team with 22 RBIs and had 27 runs to end the season. The Chargers had young pitchers this year in the circle. A Freshman lead the team in strikeouts. Jerzee Huss had 36 strikeouts on the season and pitched a total of 86 innings to make a total of 1535 pitches. Megan Underwood, who will return as a junior next year, had a total of 33 strikeouts, a total of 76 innings pitched and a pitch count of 1280. Coach Tyler Merical reflects on the season.
Coach Merical, having a young team, had to move some players around different spots on the field.
Merical also credited his two seniors for keeping the team motivated.
Coach Tyler is looking forward to next season especially with this returning group.
The Chargers begin their next season on June 24th with a double header against Martensdale-St. Mary’s.
