VERDELL DEAN NELSON, 93, of Casey, died Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at his home in Casey under hospice care. Funeral services for VERDELL DEAN NELSON will be held 10-a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church in Casey. Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Adair has the arrangements.
Public visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home of Adair.
Interment will take place following the funeral at Dalmanutha Cemetery, just north-west of Casey.
A luncheon following committal will be held at the Casey Community Building.
Memorials may be directed to the Verdell Nelson Family. They will be designated at a later date in memory of Verdell. They may be mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 523, Atlantic, IA 50022.

His daughter – Lisa (Bryan) Hansen, of Guthrie Center.
