RUTH ESTHER EATON, 81, of Smithville, TX (& formerly of Adair), died on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND. Funeral services for RUTH EATON will be held 10:30-a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Casey, Iowa. Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Adair has the arrangements.
Visitation with the family present will be held 1-hour before at the church. A reception will be held at the church following the burial.
Burial is at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery north of Adair, Iowa.
RUTH EATON is survived by:
Her husband – Chuck Eaton, of Smithville, TX.
Her daughters – Jill (Joe)Thunhorst, Greta (Tim) Larsen, Rachel (James) Riley, and Emily Martin.
Her sisters – Ellen (Roger) Bauer, of Waverly, and Lois Case, of Cordova, IL.
7 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
