KIRK DOUGLAS BYARS, 69, of Harlan, died May 27, 2026, at his home. A Memorial Service for KIRK BYARS will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 1st, at the Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.
Burial is in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Des Moines.

His wife – Kathy [Rosman] Byars, of Harlan.
His sons – Christopher and Matthew Byars, both of Des Moines.
His daughters – Rachel Byars, of Des Moines; Stephanie (Josh) Peterson, of West Des Moines, and Marissa Van Elsen, of St. Louis Park, MN.
His brother – Mike (Connie) Byars.
and 3 grandchildren.
