(State News) – In an update to our previous report, the Iowa State Patrol, Tuesday, identified the people who were involved in a fatal Jones County crash that occurred Monday afternoon. The Patrol says a 2012 Ford Fusion driven by 35-year-old Ayla Shay McFarland, of Mt, Vernon, was traveling north on Highway 151, when for reasons unknown it crossed the median at Highway 1, and was struck broadside by a 2019 Chevy Colorado pickup that was driven by 66-year-old Michael Duncomb, of Anamosa, that was traveling south on Highway 151.
McFarland died at the scene. Duncomb was injured in the crash, Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
