(Fort Madison, IA) – A motorcycle crash late Saturday night in southeast Iowa’s Lee County resulted in two people being hurt. The Iowa State Patrol says a 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by 28-year-old Todd Helmick, of Argyle (IA) was traveling south on U-S Highway 61, just north of 185th Street at around 11:20-p.m., when for reasons unknown, the cycle went out of control.
The machine crashed, injuring Helmick, and his passenger, 33-year-old Ashley Lundeen, of West Burlington (IA). Both were transported to the University of Iowa Hospital, with Lundeen being flown by AirCare helicopter.
The crash remained under investigation. The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Lee County EMS, Med Force Ambulance and AirCare.
