Cedar Rapids, IA – Officials with the Cedar Rapids Fire Department, Monday, said the body of a man who disappeared while wading into the Cedar River just below a dam late Monday afternoon, was recovered by Fire Department personnel and the Johnson County Metro Dive Team. An unmanned aerial system was also used by the Cedar Rapids Police Department while the search was being conducted.
The man, whose name was not released, was located just feet from where he was last seen. The individual was last seen approximately 60-75 feet from the shore edge when he disappeared underwater and was not seen again, according to witnesses.
