(Woodburn, IA) – The bodies of two Iowa sisters who drowned Friday in southern Iowa’s Clarke County, have been recovered. The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office reports the girls, ages 7 and 10, were located in a deep pool formed at the convergence of White Breast Creek and South White Breast Creek, after they went missing Friday evening, and following a search by deputies and family members. The girls were found shortly after were reported missing at around 6:15-p.m.
Authorities say both girls were students in the Murray Community School District, and had recently moved to the Woodburn area. Foul play is not suspected, officials said. The names of the girls were not immediately released, out of respect to their family.
