SW IA man arrested on multiple drug charges; Tabor man arrested on weapon & threat of terrorism charges

(Sidney, IA) — Fremont County Sheriff Kevin Aistrope reports a total of five arrests took place over the past couple of weeks.

A man from Bartlett (IA) was arrested April 5th on multiple drug and other charges. 65-year-old George Leo Fraissinet (shown below) was taken into custody after the Fremont County K9 Unit, assisted by the Mills County K9 Unit and additional deputies from both counties, conducted a narcotics investigation in Bartlett.

Fraissinet was found to be in possession of packaging materials and approximately 18 grams of suspected methamphetamine. His charges include:

• Drug Trafficking (5g–100kg Methamphetamine)

• Keeping a Vehicle/Premise for Controlled Substances

• Possession of Cocaine (2nd Offense)

• Possession of Marijuana (2nd Offense)

• Person Ineligible to Carry Weapons

• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

• Drug Tax Stamp Violation

Fraissinet was being held in the Fremont County Jail on a $100,000 cash/surety bond.

On April 9th, Fremont County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to reports 41-year-old Tijae Bulen Smith, of Tabor, was at Waubonsie State Park and had made threats against local VA clinics and law enforcement. Two VA clinics were placed on lockdown as a precaution. Deputies located and apprehended Smith without incident. Smith, a convicted felon, was found in possession of a rifle with an altered serial number. He was charged with being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Threat of Terrorism. Additional charges are pending. Smith was being held on a $10,000 cash bond. (Smith shown below)

Other arrested in Fremont County include:

On April 5th, 36-year-old Nicholas Scott Carlson, of Council Bluffs, who was arrested in Hamburg for Driving While Barred, Keeping a Vehicle/Premise for Controlled Substances, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His bond was set at $2,000.

On April 9th, 56-year-old Christine Maree Howell, of Hamburg, was arrested in Hamburg for Contempt of Court. She was released the following day after posting a cash bond.

And, Andrew Robert Skokan, of Missouri Valley, was arrested April 10th in Hamburg, for Driving Under Suspension. He was cited and released April 11th.
