SUV hits a squad car in Davenport, Sunday

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – The Iowa State Patrol says an SUV hit two vehicles in Davenport over the weekend, including a Davenport police squad car, after running a stop sign.

Authorities say at around 4:10-p.m., Sunday, an SUV was traveling east on 6th Street in Davenport, when it ran the stop sign at Main Avenue and struck a Davenport squad car in the middle of the intersection before continuing east on 6th Street.

Troopers said the SUV ran off the road, hit a tree, got back on the road before hitting a parked pick-up truck. No injuries were reported.

The driver of the SUV, 44-year-old Darnell R. Bonner of Eldridge, was cited with failure to maintain control.
