State reaches settlement with Club Save

(Radio Iowa) – Iowa’s Attorney General announced a settlement Thursday, with the operator of Club Save over alleged fraudulent practices. The Attorney General’s Office says from 2021 to 2023 Iowans who contacted their health savings account service provider to activate a health savings account debit or credit card were directed to telemarketers.

Those telemarketers allegedly enticed callers to enroll in buying club memberships for a small fee and rewards. The telemarketers would then upsell them into additional buying club memberships, and they did not realize they were enrolled, and were paying fees for services they never used.

Club Save has agreed to fully reimburse 522 Iowans more than 102-thousand dollars.
