Sioux Falls residents face charges connected to Iowa casino jackpot

(Radio Iowa) – Two Sioux Falls, South Dakota residents are facing felony charges in Lyon County for a casino jackpot scheme in February. Lyon County Sheriff’s Office investigators say the case stems from a jackpot win at the Grand Falls Casino near Larchwood.

Authorities allege 51-year-old Lisa Kadinger-Meinders was the actual winner of more than ten-thousand ($10,000) dollars, but arranged for 54-year-old William Crossley the third to claim the winnings instead. Officials say that may have been done to avoid tax reporting requirements and possible impacts on financial benefits.

Kadinger-Meinders is charged with money laundering and conspiracy, while Crossley faces money laundering and a charge of falsely claiming gambling winnings.
