Senator-Elect Josh Turek Statement on Winning the U.S. Senate Race in Iowa

Following Tuesday’s U.S. Senate election in Iowa, Josh Turek released the following statement:

“Thank you, Iowa. What they said was impossible, together, we have proven that the impossible was possible. I am deeply grateful to every Iowan who supported our campaign, knocked doors, made phone calls, donated money, put up a sign, and most importantly, entrusted me with their vote. After 448 days of pushing uphill and pushing for change, we have made history.

“Only in America could someone born into a working class family in Council Bluffs, Iowa, who went through the economic and health struggle that I went through, be able to represent my country in four Paralympic games, win two gold medals, represent my community in the Iowa Legislature, and now, be elected to represent Iowa in the United States Senate.

“This campaign has always been about once again having a U.S. Senator from Iowa fighting for the people of Iowa – not the billionaires and big corporations. As your next senator, I vow to do just that by tackling the corruption on both sides of the aisle, lowering costs, raising wages, and working with anyone to deliver for Iowa and Iowans.

“Tomorrow, the real work begins, and together, we are going to change this state and change our country.”
