Red Oak woman on Assault w/a deadly weapon & other charges

(Red Oak, IA) – Police in Red Oak report a woman was arrested this (Saturday) afternoon on several charges. Authorities say 42-year-old Melanie Joy Long, of Red Oak, was taken into custody at around 3:48-p.m. on charges that include: Assault with a Deadly Weapon (An Aggravated Misdemeanor); Driving While [license is] revoked for OWI (A Serious Misdemeanor); Fraudulent Use of [vehicle] Registration, and Harassment in the 3rd Degree (by Communication), a Simple Misdemeanor.

Long was arrested in the 100 block of W. Coolbaugh Street in Red Oak, and transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where her bond was set at $2,000.
