(Red Oak, IA) – An accident this (Monday) morning in Red Oak caused a police-estimated total of $6,000 damage, but no one was injured. According to Red Oak Police, 30-year-old Todd Rensch, of Villisca, was backing out of his driveway in the 400 block of E. Oak Street at around 6:30-a.m., when his 2011 Ford Focus struck a 2018 Ford Transit Van that was traveling east on E. Oak Street. The driver of the van was identified as 55-year-old Donald McFarland, of Red Oak.
The police report said Rensch was in a hurry, and didn’t see the van before his car collided with the vehicle. Authorities say Rensch was at fault, but there were no citations issued. Both vehicles were able to be driven away from the scene.
