Page County Attorney’s report, 6/30/26

Page County Attorney, James L. Varley, reports the following activities in the Iowa District Court for Page County for the week of June 1, 2026. The Honorable Eric J. Nelson, District Court Judge of the Fourth Judicial District presided. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Jordan Martin, age 24, Shenandoah, Iowa, appeared with counsel and admitted to violating the terms and conditions of probation. The defendant’s probation was revoked, and the original sentence of five years was imposed.

Jacob Lee Taylor, age 21, Clarinda, Iowa, appeared with counsel and pled guilty to Sex Offender Registry Violation-1st Offense. The defendant was fined $855 and ordered to pay court costs, surcharges and court-appointed attorney fees.

Braylyn Andrew Wilcoxson, age 18, Clarinda, Iowa, appeared with counsel and admitted to violating the terms and conditions of probation. The defendant’s deferred judgment was revoked, and the defendant was sentenced to one year of incarceration on Count 1: Operating While Under the Influence-1st Offense, and one year of incarceration on Count II: Interference with Official Acts. All but 2 days of Count I and all of Count II of the term of incarceration were suspended, and the defendant was placed on probation for 1 year. Counts I and II will run consecutively with each other. Fines of $1,250 on Count I and $430 on Count II were imposed. The defendant was ordered to pay court costs, surcharges and court-appointed attorney fees.
