(UPDATE 4/8/26) – The Iowa State Patrol has released the names of those who were involved in a fatal accident that occurred Monday evening (April 6th) in Benton County.
The Patrol reports a 2006 Chevy Silverado pickup driven by 58-year-old Ricardo Garcia-Garcia, of Kansas City, KS, and a 2026 Buick Regal driven by 39-year-old Brunis Alcy, of Cedar Rapids, were traveling east in the left lane of Highway 30 at 32nd Avenue, west of Cedar Rapids, when the pickup rear-ended the car.
The impact caused the Buick to enter the south ditch. The pickup went out of control and traveled through the median before rolling several times and coming to rest. Ricardo Garcia-Garcia died at the scene.
