Myrtue Medical Center receives national recognition

(Harlan, IA) – Officials with Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Tuesday, announced the facility recently received national recognition. They were designated as a 2026 Top 20 Critical Access Hospital for Quality by the National Rural Health Association (NHRA), for the second year in a row. It is a unique distinction to be among the top 1 percent of the more than 1,300 critical access hospitals in the nation for quality.

In addition, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has publicly reported patient survey data placing Myrtue Medical Center among eight Iowa hospitals earning a 5-star rating for patient experience.
