Missouri woman succumbs to injuries suffered at Iowa ATV park

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Natural Resources reports a Missouri woman has died from injuries she suffered in an accident Saturday evening. Authorities say 26-year-old Emily Turner, of Jamesport, Mo., died from injuries suffered from a single vehicle crash Aug. 8, at Bluff Creek OHV Park, southwest of Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Turner was operating a four-wheel all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on a track at the popular ATV and off-road motorcycle park, when she lost control and was thrown from the machine, around 8 p.m.

Eddyville First Responders, the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Department and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources responded to the scene and began life saving measures. Turner was transported to Mahaska Health, in Oskaloosa, where she was pronounced dead later that night.

The incident remains under investigation.
