(Atlantic, IA) – The Cass County Conservation Board says the County has one of best views in Southwest Iowa to observe spring woodland wildflowers. The site is just outside Atlantic, and is the location of a Wildflower Walk this weekend.
The Wildflower Walk program takes place April 25th at the Pellett Memorial Woods north of Atlantic, beginning at 9-a.m. There is no charge to participate in the event. Cass County Conservation Board and staff invite you to walk through the early spring wildflowers with Naturalist Lora Kanning.
Learn the names, uses and history of these Wildflowers. Those in attendance will meet at Pellett Memorial Woods- located just outside of Atlantic (63066 Troublesome Creek Rd), ½ mile north and ¾ mile east of the KJAN radio station.
This coming weekend, the CCCB will hold the second session of Camping 101 at the Campground Shelter inside Cold Springs Park. The session begins at 6-p.m. on Saturday April 18th, 6-p.m. The session will be all about supplies and gear! Bring your gear and stay with an optional camping night at Cold Springs park.
The camping program is also FREE, and all ages are welcome to attend.
