(Atlantic, IA) – A man on a motorcycle suffered a severe laceration to the back of his head during a collision involving a pickup truck Tuesday evening, in Atlantic. The accident happened at 13th and Plum Streets, at around 5:28-p.m.
According to the Atlantic Police Department, a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound on Plum Street and had slowed down to make a westward turn into a private driveway, when the cycle was hit from behind by a 2022 Chevy pickup truck.
The motorcyclist was transported by Cass EMS to the Cass County Memorial Hospital landing pad before being flown by Life Flight helicopter to another facility for additional treatment. The driver of the pickup was cited for following too closely.
The investigation was ongoing. The names of those involved in the crash and additional details were not immediately available.. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call the Atlantic Police Department at 712-243-3512.
