Senator Cruz Explains Past and Current Gas Prices and Why Prices are Where They Are At In The US

Gas prices have been fluctuating a lot in the past months in both Iowa and the US with gas ranging from $4.11 per gallon for regular unleaded all the way up to $6.12 per gallon for diesel which Iowa farmers rely on for filling up their equipment. In the US the average costs range from $4.23 per gallon for regular to $6.35 per gallon for diesel.

Cruz brought up a mandate across the US that would ban gasoline powered engines. Many of the corn harvested in Iowa and the US is field corn which is used and has a very important part to play in the making of ethanol, which is in about most retail fuel that contains about 10% – 15% ethanol.

With the war in Iran going on it puts a dampen on the US oil imports. Currently the US imports 40% of it’s oil with 8% coming from the middle east. The US sits as the largest producer of petroleum and natural gas. with the US making close to 14 million barrels of crude oil per day.

President Trump is a firm believer that the war in Iran is going to be coming to an end soon, and is looking to engage in more peace talks with Iran. Vice president JD Vance sent a letter to Iran talking about a potential outreach for medical supplies. So far the Vice President has heard nothing back.
