Public Hearing to be held Monday, on a Vision Atlantic permit application to allow for a daycare center

(Atlantic, IA) – A public hearing will be held Monday (June 8th), with regard to the issuance of a Conditional Use Permit application by Vision Atlantic, Inc., as part of the City of Atlantic’s Board of Adjustment meeting. The hearing, which begins at 5:30-p.m. in the City Council’s Chambers at City Hall, pertains allowing a daycare center at 1800 Olive Street, which is in a Multiple Family Residential District, and is permissible under the City’s Zoning Ordinance.

During the hearing, the Board will receive a statement from Vision Atlantic, which owns the property at 1800 Olive Street, along with statements from abutting property owners, and the general public. The hearing will be followed by a Q&A session between the Board and Vision Atlantic officials, before action is taken on approving the Conditional Use Permit. The BOA has the options of: accepting the application without conditions; accepting the application and placing conditions on the operation attached to the permit, or, they may reject the application in its entirety.
