ATLANTIC, IA (September 20, 2026) – On Thursday, September 24, Produce in the Park is celebrating its last summer market in the park with a season-finale featuring local pumpkins, a free concert by the Who Nu band, and four food trucks.
Food trucks at the park on September 24 will include The Eggroll Ladies, Lucky Wife Wine Slushies, Hy-Vee Grill serving steaks, burgers and hot dogs, and Sippin’ Pretty–a food truck making its debut appearance at Produce in the Park. Sippin’ Pretty sells lemonades and dirty sodas, increasingly popular non-alcoholic beverages made by mixing soft drinks with flavored syrups, cream or creamer, and often a squeeze of citrus. For example, farmers market shoppers in the fall spirit might be interested in trying “Campfire Crackle,” a dirty soda made with rootbeer, vanilla, marshmallow fluff, and vanilla cold foam.
This summer, Produce in the Park partnered with music sponsor Rolling Hills Bank to bring a variety of musical acts to the park for a free summer concert series. For the final summer market, Rolling Hills Bank is sponsoring the Who Nu band. Who Nu plays a variety of genres including classic rock, country, and blues.
The Patch on Dunbar, a local pumpkin patch, will be at Produce in the Park September 24 selling pumpkins and providing information about activities and events at their patch patch this fall. To highlight the extra fun they offer, The Patch on Dunbar will bring a mini putt-putt golf activity to the farmers market. Additionally, Your Forte will be offering a free pumpkin craft at the park, using miniature pumpkins from The Patch on Dunbar.
The September 24 market serves as one last opportunity to purchase local food and crafts from farmers market vendors before the transition into indoor holiday markets. Local foods sold at the September 24 farmers market will include fresh produce (such as potatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, beets, cabbage, onions and tomatoes) as well as local meats (lamb, chicken), baked goods including desserts and sourdough bread, honey, eggs, and more. Crafts and other non-food items include candles and wax melts, bath and body products such as handmade soaps, leatherwork, jewelry, paintings, compost, and more.
Produce in the Park is now accepting vendor and sponsor applications for the upcoming Holiday Market season, which begins with Boo-tique Market on Saturday, October 17. Applications can be completed online at www.ProduceInTheParkAtlanticIowa.com, and printed copies are available at the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce (102 Chestnut St., Atlantic, IA 50022). Produce in the Park welcomes vendors selling handmade or homegrown products, including local foods and baked goods, crafts, art, decorations, and plants.
Businesses and organizations supporting Produce in the Park as Annual Sponsors for the 2026-2027 season include the City of Atlantic, First Whitney Bank & Trust, Cass Health, Atlantic Hy-Vee, Cass County Tourism, the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce, Gregg Young Chevrolet of Atlantic, and the Nishna Valley YMCA. Sponsors for the month of September include Care Initiatives Hospice.
All are welcome, and admission is free at Produce in the Park. The market accepts SNAP/EBT, SUN Bucks (Summer EBT available to children) and Double Up Food Bucks, which provide two-for-one produce coupons for any produce purchased at the farmers market with a SNAP/EBT or SUN Bucks card. Recipients of SUN Bucks are reminded that the funds expire 122 days after distribution.
