ATLANTIC, IA – Produce in the Park provides the perfect place for those “in a pickle” over what to do this summer. “In A Pickle Night” on Thursday, August 6 promises a fun-filled evening at the farmers market featuring a free foam party and live music by Randy Burk, along with lots of fresh produce, local foods, and crafts.
Cucumbers are the star of night, since they are the key ingredient of pickles, a well-beloved snack. Registered Dietician Sarah Andersen notes that “cucumbers are about 95–96% water and contain small amounts of potassium and magnesium, making them an excellent food for hydration, especially during hot weather.”
Farmers market vendors August 6 will be selling cucumbers and other fresh produce such as tomatoes, onions, zucchini, and cabbages, alongside beef, pork, chicken, and lamb, baked goods and breads, eggs, and desserts. In addition to food, farmers market vendors will be selling crafts, accessories, bath and body products, candles and wax melts, and home and garden decorations.
Food and drink vendors at the August 6 market will be CoffeeGirl, Noble Provisions, and Pim’s Thai. CoffeeGirl will be featuring fresh squeezed lemonade and espresso drinks. Pim’s Thai will be selling pad thai, boba tea, and dumplings, along with other offerings. Local beef vendor Noble Provisions will be grilling burgers, as well as steak sandwiches. Noble provisions will be offering only a limited number of steak sandwiches, and shoppers looking to purchase one are encouraged to shop shortly after the market opens at 4:30.
Produce in the Park is able to provide free services and entertainment to market-goers through the support of generous sponsors. Businesses and organizations supporting Produce in the Park as Annual Sponsors for the 2026-2027 season include the City of Atlantic, First Whitney Bank & Trust, Cass Health, Atlantic Hy-Vee, Cass County Tourism, the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce, Gregg Young Chevrolet of Atlantic, and the Nishna Valley YMCA. Sponsors for the month of August include Community First Credit Union and ZION.
Produce in the Park is held every Thursday evening in the Atlantic City Park from 4:30–6:30 PM from June through September. All are welcome, and admission is free. The market accepts SNAP/EBT, SUN Bucks (Summer EBT available to children) and Double Up Food Bucks.
