(Lewis, IA) – The threat of severe weather on Friday, May 22nd, prompted the Cass County Conservation Board to postpone their planned showing of “Apollo 13,” Friday, near Lewis. The movie, which was scheduled as part of the “Movie in the Park” Campground Program, was rescheduled to Friday, May 29th, beginning at 9-p.m. The FREE public program will be held at the Campground Shelter at Cold Springs Park in Lewis.
“Apollo 13” stars Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton and Kevin Bacon. The Hollywood drama is based on the events of the Apollo 13 lunar mission, astronauts Jim Lovell, Fred Haise and Jack Swigert. The trio find everything going according to plan after leaving Earth’s orbit, but run into problems before they can complete their mission to the moon.
You’re invited to come out for a great movie under the stars. Bring a blanket or chair, Dress for the weather, if it rains, we may reschedule, and You DO NOT have to be a registered camper to attend the program.
