The Medicare open enrollment period is underway for more than 87 thousand Iowans. Iowa Insurance Division spokesperson Kristen Griffith say you should check your mail for a notice on changes.
There are two significant changes to Medicare Advantage plans as Wellmark will no longer offer Medicare Advantage plans next year and Aetna is discontinuing its Silverscript prescription drug plan. Griffith says this means going forward no Iowa Medicare Advantage plans will cover the Mayo Clinic.
The Medicare open enrollment period ends December 7th.
