(Anita, IA) – A crash late Saturday night that was reported by a person who arrived at the Anita Fire Station, resulted in the death of a Cass County teen.
The Iowa State Patrol said late this (Sunday) evening, a 2014 Chevy Equinox SUV driven by an unidentified 17-year-old from Anita, was traveling south in the 1600 block of Brown Avenue south of 160th Street in western Adair County, when it left the road to the right, entered the and traveled in the ditch before it his a culvert.
The SUV with a total of five occupants rolled over and came to rest on the driver’s side. The accident happened at around 11:26-p.m. All five occupants were able to exit the vehicle and were transported to Cass Health (Cass County Memorial Hospital) in Atlantic by private vehicles. One of the teens, a 17-year-old from Lewis, died from their injuries. None of the names were released
The Adair County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
