Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird visited Atlantic this week. Bird, a rural Dexter native, served as Guthrie County Attorney before defeating long-time Iowa AG Tom Miller in 2022. Bird said one of the accomplishments she is proud of from her first term is starting a Cold Case Unit.
Bird says she is also focused on agricultural issues.
Bird is running against Democrat Nate Willems, a labor lawyer and former state representative, who she says opposes voter ID.
Bird made her comments while speaking to a group of Cass County supporters in Atlantic Tuesday, August 11.
