A number of Iowa and Iowa State players were either drafted or signed as undrafted free agents by NFL teams over the weekend.
Seven Hawkeyes were drafted over the three days. Center Logan Jones was selected by the Chicago Bears in the second round with the 57th overall pick. Offensive lineman Jennings Dunker was picked 96th in the third round by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Wide receiver/kick returner Kaden Wetjen was also picked by the Steelers in the fourth round. Offensive guard Beau Stephens was picked in the fifth round by the Seattle Seahawks. Linebacker Karson Sharar was selected in the sixth round by the Arizona Cardinals. Two players, cornerback TJ Hall by the New Orleans Saints and edge rusher Max Llewellyn by the Miami Dolphins were picked in the seventh round.
Defensive tackle Domonique Orange was the only Cyclone player picked this weekend. He was selected by the Minnesota Vikings with the 82 overall pick in the third round.
After the draft concluded, teams scrambled to sign the best of the rest as undrafted free agents. Among the Hawkeyes signed: defensive lineman Ethan Hurkett and safety Xavier Nwamkpa were signed by the Kansas City Chiefs, defensive lineman Aaron Graves by the Baltimore Ravens, tight end Hayden Large by the Chicago Bears and quarterback Mark Gronowski was signed by the Dolphins.
For the Cyclones: offensive lineman James Neal III was signed by the Houston Texans.
