Former long-time Atlantic businessman & Councilman passes away

(Atlantic, IA) – A long-time Atlantic businessman and City Councilman has died. Gerald Brink, who owned Brink Flowers and Gift Co. before he sold the business and retired, died Monday, April 20th, at the Allen Place, in Atlantic. Brink served as an At-Large member of the Atlantic City Council, after having been appointed by former Mayor Dave Jones in Sept. 2016, to replace outgoing Councilman Bob Cord.

Brink easily won election twice before he announced his resignation from the Council, due to health reasons, last August (2025). Services for Gerald Brink are currently pending with Roland Funeral Service in Atlantic.
