Three Iowa Democrats flipped U-S House seats that had been held by Republicans. Christina Bohannan defeated Republican Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks in Iowa’s first district. Bohannan spoke to supporters in Iowa City last night.
This was Bohannan’s third race against Miller-Meeks. She finished 799 votes behind Miller-Meeks in 2024. This year’s unofficial results show Bohannan finished more than 30-thousand votes ahead of her opponent.
Miller-Meeks issued a written statement, calling the results disappointing, thanking supporters — and ending by saying the “country is at a crossroads and our fight isn’t over.”
